Are you ready to jump into the happiest time of the year with me?
Yep, that’s right—Christmas is on its way! I’m super excited to kick off this season with all of you and check out some magical designs.
Today, I’m sharing one of the most requested looks for this time of year—the Grinch! I’ll show you three fun takes on the same theme: a girly design, one that’s more boy-friendly (since they usually like scarier stuff), and a different twist altogether.

So stick around, and let’s get started! We’ll start with the girl's design.
We’re going to grab some bright green face paint. I’m using a split cake that has a slightly darker green edge, but honestly, any solid green will do just fine for this step. Now let’s outline our basic shape—start with a pear shape on your forehead for the hair and add some eyeshadow.
Next, we’ll paint on the nose, like in a dog design. Don’t forget about adding that beard on your chin! Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect; just focus on getting that basic shape down.
Now grab some red color and let’s put a cute bow right in the center of your forehead along with some lipstick on your bottom lip. Using black paint and a liner brush, start contouring to give our design more definition. Instead of drawing one single line, try adding multiple strokes—that'll help create a fluffier look!
Finish it off by adding just a few highlights with white face paint; this will really make your design pop even more. And hey—don’t forget about glitter!
Alright, let’s dive into our spooky Grinch design!
You can grab that same green color we used earlier. This time, though, we’re going for a mask-like look. You can fill in the eyelids down to the upper lip line—it kinda looks like an apple shape.
Now with a darker green, let’s add some dark circles under his eyes.
Next up, we’ll start adding some details using black face paint. Let’s give him some angry eyebrows—make them super furry!
Don’t forget to throw in some wrinkles on the nose and add a bit of furry contouring too.
And there you have it—our grumpy Grinch design is ready!
Now let’s move on to one of the most popular Grinch designs out there.
We’ll start by painting those furry hands with green face paint. Begin by sketching out the basic hand shape: arch it over the forehead and extend it down each side of the nose for the index finger and thumb.
Add three strokes on one side, then stretch out that arch shape on the other side to create the wrist. For sleeves, mix in some white and red paint.
Oh! And don’t forget about that cute little red ball for his nose—it makes for a perfect Christmas ornament!
Now let's contour our design using black and a small detail brush. Remember: adding lots of tiny strokes will really bring out that fluffy look we want to achieve with some white highlights.
Let’s finish things off with some sparkly highlights, dots, and our favorite starbursts—oh yeah, don’t skip on the glitter!
Merry Christmas everyone!
